happy birthday singapore!
Before I start enjoying tomorrow, I shall pen down my thoughts about my country, Singapore.

First of all, let's salute our country for becoming this far.

In 1965, during the Separation, Singapore became independent. By the word Independent, I mean (in Rojak English) that, WE ARE ON OUR OWN & WE HAVE NO ONE TO SUPPORT US. As years passed, look what we've became now! Although, when you look at News, when it comes to Donation, you'll see Singapore's name right at the bottom contributing a little sum of money. As in, >$100,000 lah. But, if you look closely, who was the one who fly to their country & help? It's us (and SOME other country). You see, that is why I respect Singapore apart from loving my own country. We have our 'standbys' to help needy people.

Then, when SARS attack, didn't you see on that point of time Singaporeans became as ONE? I bet you do. Cause, if you don't, then ask yourself, how we succeed in preventing SARS?

I didn't meant to compare the bad things about other country. But, this is JUST MY POINT OF VIEW.

Although Singapore was the strictest country, they did that because they want the best for our citizens. For example, Chewing Gum. Malaysia can jolly well chew chewing gum. Unlike Singapore. But what end up next? LITTER. Yes people, they throw it anywhere they like. So, what I'm trying to say that, Singapore didn't do everything for no reason. They banned Chewing Gum to prevent Littering (and maybe some other points). Just imagine lah, do you want to live in Singapore with sticky chewing gums around you? Disgusting, Gross! Worstill, if it stick to your Expensive slippers, wouldn't you be mad? THINK.

Then comes our hardworking 'banglas' who cleans up the void deck/cut down trees along the road. One thing, I love about Singapore is that, we have our own man (every Banglas are hardworking in anyway. Agree?) to clean up for us. Eventhough, they are sometimes cheeky, atlest they did their work. Unlike some country, they only knew the word, 'GAJI BUTA' or in English, 'BLIND PAY'. Which certainly means that, they knew that no one will gonna see on whether they did their job or not, they just sat at the coffeeshop, gossiping about AWEKS/GIRLS but still, the pays still in. That is why, when you stepped into SOME countries, flood occured. Cause you know why, their drain 'tersumbat' or in English, 'chocked'.

To shorten this entry up, we, Singaporeans, should appreciate what we are today. I mean, just looked back at our great great grandparents lives after the Independent Day, they suffer a lot. They're very hardworking. They want the best for the child in the future. Look what we've now. We should appreciate what they've done for US now. From Kampungs to Modern Estate. Can't you see the BIG difference that Singapore has progressed? Although, I somehow despised the behaviour by some people, yet still, I think Singapore is STILL my BEST country.

The tiniest little dot at the map, yet still Singapore is one of the richest & successful country in the world.

If you think that you can't stand living in Singapore & wants to migrate to, for example, America, because of the rules they given us, just remember that, they (the Americans) wants to live here. WHY? Because, Singapore is a peaceful & harmonious country. Did you know that riots is STILL exist in their country? Who wants to live in a country that is Free to have guns with them? Do we have racism?

Come on, we have variety of food too. You want Indian food? Chinese food? Malay food? Western food? We have all here in 1 with the shortest distance you can get to kill your desire.

Did you know that...

The largest fountain in the world is located in Singapore at Suntec City. Made of cast bronze, it cost an estimated US$6 million to build in 1997?

In 2003, Singapore's Changi Airport won the award for "Best Airport Worldwide" for the 16th consecutive year from the UK/Europe edition of the Business Traveller magazine?

The world's first night zoo, The Night Safari, is located in Singapore?

The flying fox, the world's largest bat with a wingspan of up to 1.5 metres, can be found on Pulau Ubin, one of the islands off mainland Singapore?

Every year a number of tourists from across the world explore many facets of Singapore?

Business travelers can enjoy a number of world class business facilities that only a world class destination with state-of-the-facility can provide?

To sum up all,
We can achieve, together as one nation.
And you,
YOU can play your part making Singapore proud.
